Ideas
Because his personality is relatively undeveloped (from what I've seen), fans have a large degree of freedom as far as his characterization is concerned. Some consider his innocence all an act, that he is really as evil as his alter ego. I do not believe that, but nor do I consider Bakura "pure", for no human can be. And he's not innocent, either.
I see a Bakura who is far past the stage of raging angst. Instead, he feels something like resignation toward his curse, wanting to be free, the desire is muted becaues he's no idea how he would become free. Nonetheless, he keeps moving through life, often not letting on that something is wrong.
While he'd never take his own life, Bakura would do anything to prevent his Yami from hurting others, and generally puts others above himself. As a result, he spends much of his time alone, in hopes that distance will prevent a catastrophe. However, he can be subconsciously manipulated by Yami Bakura into letting his guard down, and believing there is no harm.
Bakura's mannerisms are nearly always polite and formal, and he rarely loses his temper. Even when relaxed, he is very quiet. However, though desiring to be good, Bakura is not innocent. Sometimes when expositing, he displays more pessimism than either Honda or Anzu, which to me doesn't seem to fit with an innocent persona. I'd like to imagine Bakura also realizes Yami Bakura can never be changed, and despises his alter ego, a feeling so deep he is hardly ever aware of it. His situation has made him feel good intentions do not mean good outcomes, and there is no divine force rewarding behavior in either direction.
